What’s Halloween without carving the perfect pumpkin (or in our case, not-so-perfect, “abstract” pumpkin). Need some carving inspo? We have a lot of love for this city so we decided to curate a list of images that are pretty synonymous with Vancouver. #VeryVancouver in fact.

13. Mountains

Our mountains are so picturesque they deserve to be commemorated on a giant pumpkin! Create simple peaks or get all artsy and detailed. Either way, it’ll be one of the most #PNW jack-o-lanterns on the block.

12. Pikachu

2016 will go down as the year of the return of Pokémon . Although we did not partake in any Pokémon hunting or chasing or whatever, countless Vancouverites did.

11. Craft Beer

There’s no such thing as too much craft beer in Vancouver. Gather a few of your best craft beer drinking buds for a friendly pumpkin carving contest. Winner goes home with a growler.

10. Bicylce

The bicycle should be the unofficial symbol for Vancouver. This city is made for cyclists so why not carve one on a pumpkin?

9. Umbrella

Rain? In Vancouver? Unheard of. All praise the life-saving (hair-saving) invention of the umbrella. The amount of money we’ve spent on them…

8. French Bulldog

It’s no secret that we live in one big dog-loving city, particularly when it comes to French Bulldogs. Don’t believe us? Just walk around Yaletown sometime.

7. Hipster

This city is filled with craft-beer drinking, cold brew sipping, lumber-jack looking hipsters. They’re too cool to have their picture taken but you can carve their faces on a pumpkin.

6. Supercars

Not a day passes that we don’t see some luxury Supercar whipping down the streets of Vancouver, usually with an “N” sign on the back.

We love our coffee. We consider it a food group and 100% worthy of ending up on our pumpkins.

Got to show some love for the hometown team! Choose your favourite player, Fin the mascot, or the logo. Go, Canucks, go!
