Every summer since 1978, Vancouver trades its quiet coastal cool for displays of unapologetic joy. Anchored by the iconic rainbow crosswalks of Davie Village, Vancouver’s Pride festival is a sun-drenched celebration of love, community, and 2SLGBTQIA+ culture.
This annual event brings together locals and visitors for unforgettable block parties, art, performances, and the iconic parade.
What to expect
A high-energy city wide takeover
Expect a vibrant, sunny celebration as more than 150 parade entries fill the streets with colour. Live marching bands, dazzling performances, and an outpouring of community spirit transform downtown Vancouver into a burst of creativity, pride, and belonging.
A space built for authentic connection
Every year the festival embraces a theme that fosters an atmosphere of belonging, self-expression, and community. With designated quiet spaces, accessible viewing areas, and curated sober community spaces, it's a celebration where everyone can connect and participate in their own way.
Non-stop live performances
Across multiple Vancouver Pride dates, open-air stages come alive with spectacular drag performances, local queer musicians, and high-energy sets. As the week goes on, the celebration ends with an unforgettable sunset DJ dance party in the heart of Davie Village.
A celebration of queer history & advocacy
Expect an experience deeply rooted in community action and heritage. Interwoven with the celebration, you will find exhibits honouring local activists, spaces hosted by foundational 2SLGBTQIA+ groups and opportunities to connect directly with the community.

Pride is a celebration for every generation. Every year the Vancouver Public Library is home to family-friendly spaces inviting kids and their caregivers to enjoy games, storytimes, crafts, and interactive activities in a welcoming environment where families can celebrate together.

Vancouver Pride Parade
Since 1978, Vancouverites have gathered on the first weekend of August to celebrate visibility, resilience, and joy. Guided by a new theme each year, the parade fills the streets with vibrant floats, drag superstars, live music, and an unmistakable sense of community. The parade kicks off near BC Place and drops off right where the evening's activities commence.
Davie Village Pride Party
When the Pride Parade wraps, the party shifts gears right into Vancouver’s historic queer epicenter. Taking over a massive stretch of Davie Street and spreading into Nelson Park, this block party brings the West End to life. It’s a celebration of queer culture, connection, and community, and the ultimate way to cap off Pride Day in Vancouver.
Vancouver Pride “Beach House”
Relish in a weekend of celebration, connection, and entertainment at one of Vancouver’s most iconic waterfront locations, the English Bay Bathhouse. Drop in during the day for a family-friendly, relaxed community atmosphere, then return for evening showcases celebrating the stories, contributions, and legacies of queer icons.
Tips for the perfect Vancouver Pride Parade
The route: The official Vancouver Pride Parade route kicks off near BC Place, winds down Pacific Boulevard, and wraps up near the Burrard Street Bridge. From there, the energy flows right into the Davie Village Pride Festival to carry the celebration into the evening.
Getting there: Leave the car behind, downtown road closures mean the SkyTrain is your best bet. Nearby stops include Yaletown Roundhouse Station (Canada Line), Stadium-Chinatown Station (Expo Line) and Granville Station (Expo Line). The parade starts at 1:00pm but we recommend arriving early to secure your spot.
What to pack: Vancouver summer peaks over Pride week. Keep your cool by bringing a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, broken-in shoes, and your most colourful (and comfortable) outfit for a day on your feet.
Where to watch: Any spot on the route offers great views, but the best action is in Yaletown and Davie Village. Choose Pacific Boulevard for spacious sidewalks, the Roundhouse Community Centre for accessible viewing, or Davie Village to be at the center of the celebration.
