Be transported to a German Christmas Village

Since launching in 2010, the Vancouver Christmas Market has become one of the city’s most anticipated winter events. This festive, European-style market brings the charm of German Christmas villages to the heart of downtown. Each season, the market transforms Jack Poole Plaza into a glowing holiday gathering place filled with wooden vendor huts, twinkling lights, handcrafted gifts, family activities and seasonal treats like glühwein, schnitzel and warm pretzels.

Rooted in community and tradition, the market continues to evolve each year with new foods, performers, artisan vendors and photo-worthy displays. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning for your annual mug of hot cider, it’s a cozy, cheerful way to celebrate the season. You can explore more festive happenings on our full list of Vancouver events.

Tips for the shows

  • Dress warmly: The market is outdoors by the waterfront, and evenings can be chilly. Even though there are lots of warm drinks available, a toque is a must!
  • Buy tickets online: Secure your preferred entry time in advance and skip long lines at the gate. The market often reaches capacity on evenings and weekends, so booking a time slot online makes arrival much smoother.
  • Check the schedule: Look up performance times, special events, and Santa appearances before you go to make the most of your visit.

Where is the Christmas Market in Vancouver?

You’ll find the market in Coal Harbour in downtown Vancouver at Jack Poole Plaza, beside the Vancouver Convention Centre and the Olympic Cauldron.

It’s steps from Canada Place, and downtown hotels, perfect for combining with skating at Robson Square or exploring festive lights around Canada Place.
