Grouse Mountain’s Enchanting Light Walk Brightens up the Night
Night time is getting a bit brighter on Grouse Mountain thanks to their enchanting new Light Walk experience. Open daily at dusk, the Light Walk is a free mountain-top activity that is a great excuse to get a bit more fresh air and exercise at night.
Not only is it a great view with your own eyes, it also makes for some pretty amazing photo opportunities as well!

The Grouse Mountain Light Walk opens every night at dusk (it’s just not the same during the day) and is open until 10pm. Starting from the skating pond, you can walk amongst the fir and spruce trees around Blue Grouse Lake where stunning light installations bring radiance to the winter night.
The glow of hundreds of lights reflecting off of fresh snow is a sight that is not to be missed! Bonus: when it’s raining in the city, there’s a good chance that it’s snowing up the mountain!
The Light Walk trails are snowy, so snowshoes or snow cleats (YakTrax or Microspikes, which can be purchased at Costco or Mountain Equipment Co-Op) are recommended as the snow pathways can be slippery. You can still walk through the trails (it’s free!), but you may find yourself having a hard time staying upright!

If you would like to rent snowshoes, they are available at the Outpost for $20 or $15 (for two hours). If you have a Local’s pass, you can also rent a pair of snowshoes for free (only once).
Don’t forget your camera! Learn more about the Light Walk on the Grouse Mountain website.
