Outdoorsman Night with the Vancouver Giants, March 4 (Free Ticket Giveaway!)
On Friday, March 4th, the Vancouver Giants will be hosting Outdoorsman Night. The G-Men will be playing the Victoria Royals at 7:30pm at the Pacific Coliseum.
The Giants held the first official Outdoorsman Night last year, receiving rave reviews. It’s an event for which the Giants bring together distinctly British Columbian partners to celebrate all things BC: hockey, fishing, logging, exploring, working hard and playing harder.
Each province brings a unique flair to its niche in the Canadian identity and for “Super, Natural British Columbia”, the great outdoors definitely tops that list. Exploring nature is a favourite pastime for both locals and visitors: hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, kayaking, mountain biking… The list goes on and on!
There are well over 20 million visits to our provincial parks every year and that number doesn’t include private property usage. Couple the fact that 75% of those visits are by British Columbians, and that the population of BC is only 4.6 million, the only conclusion to draw is that we love going on adventures in our province!
Historically, of course, British Columbians have been dependent on the resource industries: logging, mining, and fishing. While employment trends are generally shifting towards more city-oriented needs, like tourism and services, the resource sector is still important to BC’s economy.
To that end, the Giants are proud to partner with companies like Royer, Avenue Machinery, Peregrine Lodge, Bluewater Rockies Sportfish Guiding Company, Timber Kings, the Laughing Logger, and JRFM, to name a few! They’ll have booths set up on the concourse and some will also be giving away great prizes for you to win. It’s going to be big night and you don’t want to miss it!
