This year, you can celebrate National Pancake Day as you were always meant to, by eating a nice stack of pancakes… for free. On Tuesday, March 8, every customer will get a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes at every IHOP location to celebrate what should be a national holiday.

That’s right, March 8 is National Pancake Day, and IHOP is celebrating by giving away free pancakes.

The free pancake event is actually a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network and their local hospitals (in British Columbia it’s the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation) so guests who come in for the free pancakes are urged to leave a donation.

This is the 11th year for IHOP’s National Pancake Day, which has raised an amazing total of $20 million for local charities in the past 10 years.

Last year over 6.6 million free pancakes were served, that’s enough to create a stack nearly 19 miles high! This year’s goal is to raise $3.5 million for children’s charities.
