Canada celebrates its 150th Anniversary of Confederation in 2017!

This is a historic moment with the power of bringing people and communities together as we celebrate our heritage, values, sense of pride and belonging.

All Canadians from all walks of life including Indigenous Peoples, immigrants – early and new, people from all cultures, of all ages, are invited to participate in this once-in-a-life-time remarkable experience! This simultaneous, national drumming celebration will unite everyone to celebrate Canada’s birthday and achieve its own all Canadian world record celebration.

This drumming celebration is organized by a federal non-profit organization: The Legacy 150 Celebrations Society with the support of more than 200 community organizations across Canada

With the support from all regions, this celebration also aims to achieve a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title in Vancouver, for “Most Nationalities in a Drum Circle (single venue)”.

This free, community celebration will be held to celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial and success of Canadian multiculturalism

The event will feature 3 parts:

  • Multicultural drumming performances
  • Simultaneous drumming across eight Canadian cities and five time zones

  • GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt to set the record for “Most Nationalities in a Drum Circle” in Vancouver (broadcast live) on Facebook and YouTube

The minimum attempt is 50 nationalities. The participants of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ attempt are representing countries from around the world including Canada, China, Singapore, Australia, Netherlands, Mexico, Vietnam and United Kingdom and more.

Giveaways: Free rattle drums and Canada flags for the first 1500 attendees!
