Amanda Palmer’s #ninjaTED Vancouver 2016 Edition
This year’s TED conference takes place in Vancouver Feb. 15-19. Tickets require a full written application and cost $8,500 a pop. But there’s a way you can enjoy some of what TED has to offer without breaking the bank.
Singer/songwriter/author Amanda Palmer is hosting her third annual #ninjaTED event. The Vancouver 2016 edition promises to, as the poster puts it, “entertain you once again with a bunch of random people.” Going by previous events, lucky ticket-holders for the Feb. 17 event could be in for a treat.
Typically, Palmer picks a few guests of that year’s TED conference and invites them to participate in an evening of inspiration and entertainment. Last year, guests included body posture expert/author Amy Cuddy, noted science fiction and fantasy author (and Palmer’s husband) Neil Gaiman, and Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield.

There’s no telling which of her fellow TED attendees the charismatic Palmer will entice to the Vogue Theatre (918 Granville St.) next Wednesday night for #ninjaTED, but you can see a list of possibles on the TED site.
