Parade of Lost Souls 2019 is the true highlight of the Halloween season in Vancouver
Thought Halloween was over this Thursday? Think again!
The time-honoured Commerical Drive tradition, known as the Parade of Lost Souls, will be taking over East Vancouver’s Commercial Drive on November 2nd for a night of fantastic revelry.
This extremely popular annual event has been happening for over 25 years and is attended by well over 10,000 lost souls. Much more than a parade, the event includes costumed revellers, live bands, art installations, delicious food trucks, and much more!

The parade will take to the streets on Saturday, November 2nd from 7 – 10 pm. This year’s parade has the theme “S.O.S. Save our Souls.”
If you have a younger child who wants to be in on the action, a “Parade of Little Souls” will be held at 7 pm starting at the Britannia Library. It’s a great introduction to the colourful and dazzling festivities!
For the older crew, the parade route will begin at Napier St & Commercial Drive. The route will wrap around the neighbourhood, stopping at secret dance parties, a carving centre, and finishing at the tennis courts.
For those that want to keep the party going, there will be an After Party hosted at the Wise Hall from 9 pm to 1 am.
The festival’s true popularity lies in its ability to inspire and accentuate the creativity of those who attend. The Parade of Lost Souls is proof that we have not lost our link to the richness and depth of the ritual celebrations of our ancestors.
