Celia Au

Born in Hong Kong and raised in New York City, Celia Au spent much of her childhood at her parents’ video rental store. She found herself surrounded daily by stories brought to life by filmmakers around the world, and soon developed a passion for cinema. Inspired by the characters in film world fantasies she saw on-screen, Celia developed her own style of fanciful androgyny that attracted the attention of directors and photographers who compared her to “a character out of Final Fantasy.” After her first test shoot, Celia landed a slew of bookings in music videos, print ads and commercials – a series of successes that quickly led to film and television work.

Now, Celia spends much of her time in Vancouver shooting the action-packed drama series Wu Assassins (watch for it on Netflix in summer 2019). Read on for Celia’s top three local experiences.
