Need-to-know: Vancouver health and safety

Vancouver is much more than clean streets, fresh air and rooftop yoga. Here, our physical and mental health takes top priority, which is why we adapted quickly to the new normal. As soon as you disembark your ship, you’ll notice we’ve implemented protocols – including mandatory masks and proof of vaccination required indoors – to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome to walk our streets, visit our attractions and dine in our restaurants.

To review our current Covid-19 safety protocols, visit our Covid-19 Information and Resources page.

Canada Line

Environmental and community stewardship

Our port is situated in a scenic harbour setting, and we work hard to keep it that way with programs like Shore Power, which decreases marine diesel air emissions by allowing cruise ships to shut down their engines when in port. The Canada Place cruise terminal is equipped with Shore Power on its east and west berths. Plus, our Blue Circle Awards recognize ships that participate in the EcoAction program, which promotes emissions reduction goals for ocean-going vessels.

More information is available on the Port of Vancouver’s Environment page.
