The International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (IHPBA) has chosen Vancouver as the host city for their 18th Global Congress. The IHPBA is a non-profit organisation created with the vision to devote itself to relieve world-wide human suffering caused by Hepato Pancreato Biliary disorders by improving education, training, innovation, research and patient care.

The successful bid win by Destination Vancouver and the Vancouver Convention Centre will bring over 3000 delegates in the Spring of 2028. As the first Canadian city to host and a top choice for global life sciences conferences, Vancouver is the ideal host city, offering a sophisticated, safe and multicultural environment for attendees and visitors.

As one of the greenest, most inclusive and accessible cities in the world, Vancouver is uniquely positioned to host numerous conferences that will leave legacies for the following generations. With over 120 daily non-stop flights from throughout the globe, YVR has been named the best airport in North America for the last 12 years. From the moment a plane lands, our network of electric trains, buses and hybrid taxis can bring visitors to our compact and walkable downtown core. With over 13,000 guest rooms to choose from, most hotels are in close proximity to our modern and forward-designed Convention Centre which holds the highest possible environmental standard as the world’s first double LEED convention centre.
