This past October, Sport Hosting Vancouver announced that Vancouver was chosen to be the host city for the 2020 NORCECA Men’s Tokyo Volleyball Qualification Tournament in January. The Tournament is to be held at the Pacific Coliseum from January 10 – 12, 2020.
Canada, Cuba, Mexico, and Puerto Rico will go head-to-head in a three-day round-robin tournament, fighting to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. This will be a big tournament for Canada following the Olympic Games in 2016 where the Men’s National Volleyball Team placed fifth after their 24-year absence. Canada must finish first to qualify for the 2020 Olympics. Luckily, Team Canada is currently ranked sixth in the FIVB World Ranking, making them the highest-ranked team at the qualifier in Vancouver.
