The 2022 list of Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants was announced in late May and this year a local Vancouver restaurant has taken the coveted No. 1 spot for the very first time. Opened in 2019 on the cusp of the pandemic, Published on Main has surprised many with an elaborate 11-course tasting menu and impeccable service at this refined, fine-dining spot whose decor was inspired by traditional English coffee houses.
The list contains 18 Vancouver restaurants with five in the top 25. In addition to Published on Main, they include:
3. St. Lawrence – the much-loved East Vancouver restaurant featuring Quebecois and classical French cuisine.
9. Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar – at the Sutton Place Hotel combining a great Western seafood experience in a hotel setting.
23. Oca Pastificio – on Commercial Dr. is a shrine to starch in a city that does not lack excellent pasta. The menu changes daily to showcase what is best and freshest.
25. Hawksworth – the exceptionally elegant restaurant that blends classical approaches with Asian culinary influences.
