Welcome to Collingwood, one of Vancouver's oldest neighbourhoods. This unique neighbourhood dates back to the late 1890’s. Many of the early settlers in the area were farmers. Avalon Dairy, one of the oldest established dairy farms in the province, is still located here.

In 1890 Collingwood had Vancouver’s first streetcars. The fare was a nickel. The line connected Collingwood with New Westminster and Vancouver. Today Collingwood has a modern transit station at Joyce/Collingwood, and you can take Skytrain, bus or car to visit our neighbourhood.

Today the “Village” of Collingwood is a bustling and thriving multicultural community that has a small town feeling in the midst of the big City. Colourful lamppost banners run along a boulevard of trees and planted landscaping in the street median and sidewalks that bring an attractive uniformity to the storefronts. The sidewalks are pedestrian friendly and are regularly cleaned by the Collingwood Clean Team.

We are located at the Crossroads of Vancouver and Burnaby with a shopping area that has been serving Collingwood’s needs for generations. Collingwood has a unique array of trendy shops, restaurants and professional services, where visitors can shop and eat in a friendly, safe, clean, dynamic and multi-cultural setting. There’s a pleasing mix of long term family-owned businesses and shops such as bakeries, banking, professional and business services, health, beauty, hair care, clothing, deli, grocery and vegetable stores as well as familiar stores such as Safeway, London Drugs and Starbucks. You can enjoy a host of dining experiences with a variety of ethnic restaurants which offer delectable treats. This is an area you don’t want to miss day or night.

After a busy day shopping, modern park benches offer a tired shopper a place to rest and socialize before returning to your home or transit connection. Our colourful murals showcase the area’s cultural and historical development. Come down and check out our corner of the world where friendly faces and smiles await you.
