BC Place is a state-of-the-art venue like no other. A one-of-a-kind retractable roof - the largest in the world - reveals over 7,500 square metres of sky and has created a year-round facility for world class events in beautiful British Columbia. When you arrive you’ll discover 800 WiFi access points and over 1,100 digital screens making BC Place one of the most technologically advanced venues in the world. Our FIFA ‘2-Star RECOMMENDED’ playing surface converts to create the largest column-free indoor space in Western Canada. Suspended above the field is the world’s second-largest 4-sided centre hung HD video board, which is surrounded by 54,500 seats and more than 50 suites and hospitality lounges. The “Northern Lights Display” is what we call our incredible 36-foot façade, lit up by thousands of energy-efficient LED lights, creating colour animations that bring life to the Vancouver skyline. The retractable roof over BC Place is truly a technological marvel, transforming British Columbia’s largest and most versatile venue into a busier, and more exciting place to host world class events. The cable-supported fabric roof is the largest of its kind in the world - designed and engineered specifically for Vancouver’s climate, following rigorous engineering and architectural studies. But most importantly, BC Place is able to hold events in comfort with a year-round events schedule. And that allows BC Place to contribute even more to British Columbia’s economy – by generating more than $100 million in economic activity - year in, year out.
