Fairmont Vancouver Airport Brings Mexico’s Rivera Maya to Vancouver
Until further notice, in line with the public health order, non-essential travel into, within, and out of BC is not recommended. BC residents, let’s do our part by continuing to stay small and support local with your immediate household, in accordance with the latest guidelines.
With Canadian travel restrictions still in effect, Fairmont Vancouver Airport has created a unique Vacation to Nowhere stay package for local would-be vacation-goers looking to satisfy their travel cravings. In partnership with Fairmont Mayakoba, located in Mexico’s stunning Riviera Maya, this cheeky-yet-elevated staycation experience recreates some of Fairmont Mayakoba’s signature offerings, transporting guests to Mexico without ever leaving the airport.
The package is available to book now through May 1, 2021, and starts at $699.00 CAD per night (with the option to add on additional nights for $239.00 CAD, excluding additional dining offerings) with the following inclusions:
- One night accommodations in a Mayakoba themed Signature Room
- Bucket of Coronas welcome amenity
- Private pool time for two hours with poolside signature Mayakoba cocktails and snacks for two
- Chef-prepared dinner for two featuring a personalized menu inspired by authentic Mexican Riviera Maya dishes and beverage pairings
- $120.00 CAD Absolute Spa credit
- Breakfast for two
- Late check-out of 2:00pm
Guests who book this Vacation to Nowhere package will enjoy a Fairmont Signature Room decked out with themed décor, including a beach lounge chair with palapa umbrella and special touches couriered directly from Fairmont Mayakoba. Upon arrival to the room, guests will also be greeted with a bucket of Coronas on ice.
Vacation to Nowhere guests can get those “beach resort vibes” while enjoying some poolside fun with a two-hour private pool reservation, complete with themed snacks and cocktails for two. Cocktail choices include the option of Fairmont Mayakoba’s signature Habanero Margarita or Mayakoba Punch. And because a true Fairmont Mayakoba experience isn’t complete without a little pampering, the package also includes a $120.00 CAD Absolute Spa credit that can be used for one of the spa’s 150 services – including spray tans, so that, those who might need it, can return from their Mexican holiday with more than a mid-winter glow.
The experience continues into the evening, featuring a family-style dinner prepared by Fairmont Vancouver Airport’s Sous Chef Abraham Zamorano Ruiz, who began his career training under Chefs in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This authentic menu of celebrated dishes from Mayakoba restaurants includes such dishes as Prawn Aguachile, Zarandeado Fish Filet with Pico de Gallo, and Grill Octopus with Habanero Aioli. Dishes will be paired with a lineup of crafted, tequila-based cocktails.
To wrap up this Vacation to Nowhere experience, the package also includes a late check-out of 2:00pm the following day, giving guests plenty of time to sleep in and enjoy breakfast in bed.
Sweetening the offer even further, those who book the package will be entered into a drawing to win a four-night stay with breakfast included at Fairmont Mayakoba – valid for one year from whenever international travel for Canadians officially reopens.
“The appetite for travel still exists and we wanted to create something for the people who are longing for an escape,” says Lesliann Kuhn, Director, Sales and Marketing. “We might not be able to promise sunshine and a sandy beach, but we can promise a weekend of fun and one reminiscent of vacations past.”
