Are you getting bored of eating your meals in a standard, old restaurant? A new experience is coming to Vancouver that will help bring the excitement back to a night out… for the price of $300 – $1,000. How could a dinner cost that much, you may be asking? Well, you’ll be paying extra for the view – and what a view!

Dinner in the Sky is a worldwide phenomenon that first began in Belgium. Since the first event, there have been over 5,000 such events hosted in over 40 countries worldwide. This will be the first opportunity that Vancouver has had to host Dinner in the Sky between July 1 and July 31, 2017.

So what is Dinner in the Sky, anyway? Ever been on the Hellavator at Playland? This is similar, just a bit less extreme!

For Dinner in the Sky, guests are lifted over 150 feet off the ground by a giant 200 foot crane to see the city in a way that they’ve never seen it before. The 360 degree unobstructed view will be worth the extra cash you’ll be throwing down for the most exclusive dinner reservations in the city.

“One the world’s most extravagant meals – Forbes”.

So how much will dining in the sky cost you? The cheapest ticket, a $296 lunch experience, includes a 2 course meal, premium starter, 1 glass of champagne, and unlimited juice/soft drinks. (That’s $296 per ticket, by the way). If you’re feeling a bit more generous, you can shell out $919 for the VIP treatment, which includes a 5 course meal, raw bar, caviar, wine, champagne, and prime seating.

Tickets are on sale now for the limited time “floating restaurant” that will be in Vancouver from July 1 – July 31, 2017. Currently, tickets are on sale for 10% off regular price until February 1 – just use code sky2017 at the Dinner in the Sky website to get the discount.

The logistics of a dinner in the sky are baffling at best. But, it appears that this company has been hosting events like this for years and know what they are doing! They have an extensive FAQ section that even answers the most important question of all – “What if I have to go to the bathroom?” Safety precautions are taken very seriously, so there’s no chance of falling out of your chair.

If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be the dinner party for you. For everyone else, climb aboard and enjoy the most memorable meal you will ever have!
