The popular Live & Local summer events are a free way to encourage community connection and celebration of arts and culture. These events bring unique and engaging experiences to North Vancouver neighbourhoods.

Terminal City Brass Band - June 23rd @ Lynn Valley Village
Formed in 2016 as a house band for venerable South Granville haunt, Ouisi Bistro, Terminal City Brass Band plays a full-on range of music from trad jazz to funk and anything else that crosses their minds. In addition to their numerous individual music projects, these close friends come together regularly out of the love for the sound they create.

Bitterly Divine - June 28th @ Edgemont Boulevard
Bitterly Divine is a Vancouver based rock band whose roots trace back to the Squamish Nation. Hard driving with a swaggering sense of fun, they sing about Aboriginal issues, troubled journeys, lost girls and youth. They have quickly established themselves as a must-see Vancouver band, playing more than 400 shows over the last ten years.

Pat Chessell - July 5th @ Lynn Valley Village
Vancouver's own Pat Chessell has emerged as one of the most captivating folk artists in Western Canada. Pat's earthy vocal delivery, magnetic stage charisma, and masterful guitar skills have cultivated a growing legion of devoted followers. Firmly rooted in Celtic tradition, his music also bears a heartfelt connection to his homeland and the contemporary world. 

The Promised - July 12th @ Panorama Park
Known for their acoustic style and high energy music, The Promised is a roots/country band with a little rockabilly flavour. With tight harmonies and a powerful sound, their music captures you within its story. Their chemistry on and off stage is undeniable, and their energy will keep you wanting more.

Matthew Presidente - July 19th @ Lynn Valley Village
Vancouver’s piano man, Matthew Presidente is a bold rock/pop songwriter. Exploding with queer empowerment, Matty is a high energy piano-based performer who connects with the crowd through passionate performances. 

Headlong Hearts - July 26th @ Panorama Park
Vancouver’s Headlong Hearts are a 5-piece band that writes great original songs, sings in stacked harmony, and delivers ace musicianship on guitars, violin, banjo, mandolin, bass and drums. 

Terminal Station - August 2nd @ Lynn Valley Village
Terminal Station is a Blues-Rock band in the best sense of the word. Their music is raw and exciting – full of fat bass lines, explosive drumming, risk taking solos and impassioned vocals. Over the last few years, Terminal Station has performed hundreds of shows and earned a reputation as a must-see live act. 

Mark James Fortin Band - August 9th @ Edgemont Village
The Mark James Fortin Band plays originals and familiar classics. Their collision of rock and R&B brings forth Mark's tough but tender voice combining the sophistication of jazz with a straightforward emphasis on groove, feel, and honesty. Mark James Fortin Band have delighted scores of listeners of all tastes and backgrounds with their accessible, yet authentic music.

Serengeti - August 16th @ Lynn Valley Village
Listen for vintage jazz sounds and timeless lyrics from Nigerian-Canadian, Afro-soul and R&B artist, Sadé Awele. Serengeti’s music pulls influences from Erykah Badu, Lauren Hill, Fela Kuti, Marvin Gaye and Chaka Khan. Their music brings an exceptional energy which blends instrumentation from the depths of Morocco to the shores of Nigeria.

The WD's - August 23rd @ Panorama Park
Celtic-world-party-folk-rockers, the WD’s, brew fiery fiddle, titillating trumpet, giddy guitar, busty bass, delicious drums, and a quaffable quartet of voices to tell legends of good times past. The WD’s infuse classic and original songs in ways one would never imagine; combining various elements of Celtic, country, rock and Roma music.

R&B Conspiracy - August 30th @ Lynn Valley Village
The rhythm and blues powerhouse, R&B Conspiracy, is a mix of funk, soul, and traditional blues with an edge. This dynamic seven-piece band features three hot female vocalists and plays all your favourite songs from the ’60s to today, guaranteed to keep you grooving all night. R&B – with a twist!

Queer as Funk - September 6th @ Panorama Park
As one of the few predominantly queer and non-binary bands in the province, Queer as Funk's shows are not only dynamic and entertaining, but a powerful statement of pride and identity. Queer As Funk has earned a reputation as a powerful and entertaining band. Their tight horn arrangements, groovy rhythms, and powerful vocals have won over fans at music festivals and Pride events across Canada
