Agustina Videla’s Social Tango

In celebration of Latin America Heritage Month, DanceHouse, in partnership with Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre, presents the hotly anticipated Vancouver premiere of Agustina Videla’s intoxicating Social Tango, on stage October 24-26, 2024 at 8pm at the Vancouver Playhouse. An exploration of tango and its role as an essential life force in Argentine culture, Social Tango seamlessly integrates passionate dance with a soulful musical score, performed live on stage, coupled with multimedia film projections, featuring documentary footage by Argentine filmmaker Nora Lezano. And in the true spirit of tango, audiences of all ages and abilities will be invited to participate in post-show tango dance parties, called milongas, for an opportunity to put the fiery moves seen on stage into practice.
